I've been in a painting frenzy

I'm going to be busy outside the house for a bit, so I decided that I might as well go ahead with the painting projects. Besides, I want a warm, inviting place to come home to, and white walls never really did it for me, especially when the "white" was more "off-white" from the dirt. Since the walls in both the living room and sitting room need a skim coat job, I wanted to hold off with the painting, but I just couldn't take it anymore, and paint is cheap. I was also waiting for some color inspiration, and I once I got that, off I went to the Depot. After having a pretty extensive chat with the guy behind the counter, who had his own suggestions for my living room, I went with my original color choice.

I think I'm becoming a painting pro - almost. At the suggestion of Guy Behind the Counter, I took my time prepping the room, making sure the painter's tape was securely and accurately stuck to the wall. Because the dirty white walls were painted with a flat enamel, priming wasn't necessary (yay!).

Overall, it wasn't an unpleasant process. I think that was partly due to the home-improvement channel buzzing in the background - gave me some motivation to create a masterpiece. Additionally, all that prep work paid off - look at those edges!

I'm working on the sitting room, which will be done in a color called "Summer Heat." I have one coat on the wall, but since it's richer than the Sahara Shade of the living room, I have to use more than one coat, and I'm way too tired to put on the second coat tonight. I can already tell I'm gonna like it, and it works well with the lighter color of the living room.
